Advanced Writers' Club, $260, 6th-9th grade

This 8 week class will meet once a week on Tuesdays for 8 weeks at the same day/time each week. For example, a class could meet on Tuesdays from June 7-July 26 from 1-1:50pm each week (see above for the correct designated time).  There will be 8 classes total.   Instead of the summer slide, your students will SOAR into the next grade with more advanced writing skills.   Do you want to advance  your child's writing skills and boost his or her confidence in creating effective sentences and paragraphs? This class uses fun activities and hands-on  practice for writing skill development dealing with sentence  structure, vocabulary, proper grammar, and punctuation. Your child will  learn to create effective, attention-grabbing opening sentences for  academic and creative essays, combine shorter sentences into more  complex sentence structures, and edit sentences for clarity. Students will also learn how to change passive sentences into active, strong  sentences, new vocabulary words to make their writing sound more  interesting and sophisticated, and proper grammar and punctuation. Your  child will learn that writing need not be a chore but can be fun and  satisfying!

Class size is kept small and in our writing classes, it's usually a 8 or fewer students. The cost of the class is for all of June and July--8 weeks total .  There will not be any additional fees due.    Total cost includes payment for the class, materials fee, facility rental fee, and registration. We are a LLC, have filings with the state, and carry insurance.  The payment is due upon registration.  Since we secure staff, rent classroom space, and prepare materials based on the amount of students registered, no refunds will be given for students who drop the class.  You are welcome to see if you can find a replacement to take your child's place and you can collect the payment for the sessions.   Make-up sessions are not offered for missed sessions. The teacher will provide make-up work, but we will not be able to reschedule summer sessions or make up sessions due to classroom availability and other teaching commitments.
