Young Writers Club II (Grades: 6, 7, & 8) - Is your intermediate school child ready to advance his or her writing skills to the high school and collegiate level? This class uses fun activities and hand-on practice for intermediate school students to understand the writing process. Students will learn brainstorming strategies for essay and research ideas, planning strategies for paragraph and overall essay organization, and proofreading and editing strategies to construct effective introductions, thesis statements, and conclusions. In addition, students will learn advanced sentence structure and gain a more sophisticated vocabulary for formal academic writing. Your child will gain the confidence he or she needs to tackle higher-level writing and prepare for the rigors of the academic writing world they will encounter in high school and college.
